About Us

Advanced Document Concepts began as A.B. Dick Products Company of Chico and opened its doors in 1955 selling mimeographs and spirit duplicators. At that time the company was owned by Ed Drinkwine. After a short time, printing equipment and copiers were added to the inventory. In 1966 a young salesman named Royce Fogleman was hired to sell printing equipment in The North Valley. In 1970 Royce bought out Mr. Drinkwine and become the sole owner. From that time the company grew and added more office equipment to its sales lineup, becoming a Mita copier dealer in 1979.

The office equipment business has changed dramatically since 1955. Mimeographs and spirit duplicators have fallen by the wayside, printing is a much smaller industry, A.B. Dick Company has been bought out by Presstek and Mita was bought out by Kyocera. Kyocera is now building some of the most advanced digital copiers on the market today and, with double digit sales increases each year, is one of the best selling copier brands as well. The shift in focus from analog to digital in terms of printing and copying technologies is just one of several reasons that prompted a name change from A.B. Dick Products Company of Chico to Advanced Document Concepts. The name change, made in 2003, more properly represents the changing focus of the company in order to keep up with these evolving markets.
