About the Event:
Traditional Gold-Nugget kick-off featuring the crowning of the Gold Nugget Queen.
During this annual event, fourteen high school juniors demonstrate their knowledge of the costume and culture of the 1850’s. The Queen and her court, chosen at this event, will reign over Gold Nugget Days and become the Ambassadors of the Gold Nugget Museum until next year. Admission is only $8.
Each contestant designs her dress and entire ensemble to represent clothes worn during the period of 1850 to 1899, perfect in every detail including fabric style, under garments, shoes, hair style, hats and jewelry.
