Hooked on Hunting/Drawn to Archery - This is an introduction to basic wilderness skills. Guests will have access to information as to where they can learn more about what interests them. There are many paths to becoming familiar with conservation and our wilderness areas. Our goal is for people to do it safely and with knowledge. This event is targeted toward the young and the young at heart. Last year, we had Cal-Fire, Wildfire Ready Raccoon, State Parks, Back Country Horsemen, Cal Fish & Wildlife wardens, archery, animal identification and tracking, tree stand safety, flint knapping, orienteering (map & compass usage), wilderness first aid, USFS and Smokey the bear, and Fins, Fur & Feathers sporting goods. This spring it looks like everyone who was there in September 2017 will return in May 2018. We are also planning to have additional groups and organizations there. We are still confirming who will be there and how much space they need. Fire Safe interests are welcome to join us. Wildfire Ready Raccoon is planning to be there and he might need some company. Participation is free. There will be burgers, etc. for a small charge. Where This event will be at the Paradise Bow Hunters' Archery Range in Coutolenc Park off of Coutolenc Rd. in Magalia. Mission Conservation is a way of life. One part of knowledgeable conservation is getting to know the habitats around us so that the efforts we make are productive for the inhabitants of the eco-system that reside there as well as the hunters who are also a part of the ecosystem. Hunting, and getting to know the wildlands around us, are tools for successful conservation and game management as well a way for people to feed their families and protect their homes and support their communities. Partnerships & Sponsorships Please consider joining us as we endeavor to share the wonders of the wilderness with those who would like to learn more about archery, conservation, wildlife, wilderness safety and first aid, hunting skills, wildlands management, ethics, community-wilderness interfaces and more…….what are your ideas? We would like to thank the Butte County Fish & Game Commission and the Paradise Recreation & Park District for their continued support.
