Enloe FREE drive-thru public flu vaccination clinics
Enloe announces FREE drive-thru public flu vaccination clinics
COVID-19 makes flu vaccines vital
Adults and children ages 3 and up can get a free flu shot at one of Enloe Medical Center’s scheduled vaccination clinics starting next week. Enloe will host additional drive-thru clinics as soon as more vaccines arrive. Provided by Butte County Public Health, vaccines are given on a first-come, first-served basis, and cover four common flu strains.
“Getting a flu shot is the best way to prevent the flu and is especially important for the young and senior populations,” said Judy Cline, RN, director of Enloe’s Emergency department, Prompt Care and Trauma Services. “Getting a flu shot every year helps build immunity to the variety of strains of flu that we may see.”
For pregnant women, a limited supply of no-cost, preservative-free vaccines is available. For more information, please visit www.enloe.org/baby or call (530) 332-3970.
Anyone getting a flu shot at one of Enloe’s drive-thru clinics should:
- Wear a mask. These are required.
- Wear clothing that allows vaccination to their upper arm.
- Bring a pen to fill out a consent form.
- Complete the consent form legibly.
- Not block driveways or intersections.
All of this information, in addition to education on flu prevention and treatment, and a list of local resources are available at www.enloe.org/flu. Members of the community may also call Enloe’s Flu Information Line at (530) 332-7017.
