California Banjo Extravaganza
The 8th Annual Banjo Extravaganza – return for a benefit concert at the Paradise Performing Arts Center on the eve of the 1st anniversary of the Camp Fire. On November 7, 2018, Bill Evans and the 7th annual Banjo Extravaganza performed to a happy crowd at the Sierra Nevada Big Room in Chico. The next morning, the Camp Fire began, and our world changed forever. Now, a year later, this same group of world famous musicians has return to play a benefit concert at the Paradise Performing Arts Center (PPAC) on Thursday, November 7, 2019….. the eve of the 1st anniversary of the Camp Fire. The 8th annual California Banjo Extravaganza features some of the best known musicians in the world of Bluegrass music. Bill Evans, Gina Furtado, and Leroy Troy are all masters of the banjo, while their all-star band includes John Reischman on mandolin, Chad Manning on fiddle, Sharon Gilchrist on bass, and Dale Adkins on Guitar. Tight harmonies, lively melodies, and hots solos will fill PPAC with the joyful sounds of the same music which this group brought to Butte County a year ago, on the eve of the Fire. Getting to attend a show with these fine musicians would be a treat anytime. But attending this benefit concert show, with these musicians, in Paradise, and on the eve of the 1st anniversary of the Camp Fire, will be stuff of musical history. The post fire cleanup phase is passing, and the re-building of the city of Paradise is soon to begin. On the eve of the 1st anniversary of the Camp Fire, at the Paradise Performing Arts Center, the 8th Annual California Banjo Extravaganza will help us to both remember that which was lost, and to celebrate that which will come.
