KIDS FISHING DAY
Hundreds of ridge youngsters will get a chance to try their hand at fishing at the annual Kids Fishing Day, slated for Saturday, April 21 at Paradise Lake. This popular annual event is sponsored by Paradise Irrigation District (PID) with support from the Butte County Fish and Game Commission.
Kids Fishing Day features free raffles, prizes for catching "big" trout and a snack bar—and that's all in addition to the opportunity to reel in come of the more than 5,000 pounds of catchable size trout, including trophy-size trout weighing six pounds and more.
The day of family fun begins at 6 am and continues until 3 pm. Kids may fish anywhere from the shore at Paradise Lake. Only youth ages 3 to 15 will be permitted to fish; parents and grandparents are encouraged to provide assistance only. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Paradise Lake will close April 16 for annual fish re-stocking and to prepare for Kids Fishing Day. The lake will re-open to the public on April 23.
